The true yatra begins today as you leave Kathmandu and drive to Syabrubesi/Timure, small bordering villages on the Nepal side — around 150 km, taking roughly 6–7 hours due to mountainous roads. Overnight at a basic guest house on a sharing basis. Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
After breakfast, check out and proceed through Nepal-side immigration, then to the Nepal–China border at Rasuwagadhi Naka (around a 1 km walk) to clear immigration and security checks for Tibet — timing depends on the number of pilgrims crossing that day. After clearing formalities, drive 25 km (about 45 minutes) to Keyrung, your first stop in Tibet. Check in and enjoy a free day. Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
After breakfast, travel to Saga, gradually gaining altitude — reaching up to 4,820 metres at the highest point before settling at 4,500 metres in Saga. Lunch en route is a packed meal with limited options. Overnight in Saga. Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.

Bathing inside or outside the lake is not permitted. Pooja can be performed independently (no arrangements are made by us). If you need a pony or porter for the Parikrama, contact our local guide on this day — availability can be limited due to high demand, even after payment, and we are not liable if one cannot be secured.Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
Travel to Darchen, the last town before starting the Kailash Parikrama — a good opportunity for any remaining shopping. Explore the town at leisure. Overnight at hotel. If permitted, you may visit Astapad for darshan of the South Face — the spot where the first Jain Tirthankar, Guru Rishabhdev, is believed to have attained enlightenment (extra cost applies).Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
The day the whole yatra builds toward — after breakfast, a packed lunch is provided to carry with you. A 15–20 minute drive takes you to Yamadwar, the starting point of the Parikrama. Day 1 of the trek is a comparatively easy 12 km, taking 4–6 hours, with darshan of Kailash Parvat en route. Overnight at a tea house in Diraphuk. Notes: those not doing the Parikrama remain at Darchen (same or different hotel, additional cost applies). Accommodation at Diraphuk is basic, multiple-sharing with outside toilets — no bathing facilities or mineral water available. Dinner is typically khichadi or similar.Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.

Accommodation here is also basic, multiple-sharing with outside toilets, no bathing facilities or mineral water.Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
