Kailash Mansarovar Yatra by Helicopter – 14 Nights / 15 Days (NRI Special) – Day-wise Itinerary

  • Welcome to Nepal — your spiritual trip to the Abode of Lord Shiva starts today. Arrive at Kathmandu airport and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day free for personal activities. Overnight at hotel. Meals: Dinner.
  • After breakfast, sightseeing covering Pashupatinath Temple, Guheshwori Shakti Peeth and Jal Narayan (Sleeping Vishnu). Afternoon shopping time at the market, returning to the hotel by 6 PM. Yatra briefing at 7 PM, dinner and overnight stay. Note: suitcases are kept at the hotel; on-trek luggage is carried in a duffle bag provided by us, with a 10 kg weight limit. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner.
  • After breakfast, drive to Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park for a hike of approximately 5–6 hours, then return to the hotel. Overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner.
  • Sightseeing at Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Doleshwor Mahadev and Saga Mahadev. Return to the hotel and recheck your baggage for the trip ahead. Overnight at hotel. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner.
  • After breakfast, fly to Nepalgunj and attend a briefing session on the Kailash Yatra ahead. The rest of the day is free — you may visit Bageshwori Temple independently. Overnight in Nepalgunj. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner.
  • An early morning flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot (50 minutes) — a secluded town accessible only by air, and a crucial acclimatization stop before entering Tibet. Overnight at Simikot. Notes: flights are subject to weather-related delay or cancellation; if cancelled, an optional day trip to Bardia National Park is available at your own cost. Early hotel check-in is subject to availability; non-attached or shared rooms may apply. Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
  • After breakfast, a short 20-minute helicopter flight from Simikot to Hilsa, on the Nepal–Tibet border. A short walk to the immigration office for border formalities, then meet our Tibetan staff and travel by vehicle to Purang (Taklakot). Overnight in Taklakot. Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
  • After breakfast, drive around 88 km to sacred Lake Manasarovar. Begin a parikrama of the lake by vehicle and take in the peaceful surroundings. Overnight in a guesthouse near the lake. Notes: accommodation is basic, multiple-sharing rooms with outside toilets. Bathing in the lake is not permitted. Pooja can be performed independently. If you need a pony or porter for the Parikrama, contact our local guide on this day — availability can be limited even after payment. Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
  • Spend the morning in spiritual practices on the banks of Lake Manasarovar — pooja, meditation or simply absorbing the atmosphere. Drive to Darchen, the base camp of Mount Kailash, and prepare for the Kailash Parikrama. If permitted, visit Astapad for darshan of the South Face (extra cost). Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
  • After breakfast, a packed lunch is provided (apple, biscuit, juice, chocolate, namkeen). A short drive to Yamadwar marks the start of the Parikrama. Day 1 is a comparatively easy 12 km trek, taking 4–6 hours, with darshan of Kailash Parwat en route. Overnight at a tea house in Diraphuk. Notes: those not doing the Parikrama remain at Darchen with additional cost. Accommodation at Diraphuk is basic; no bathing or mineral water; dinner is typically khichadi or similar. Meals: Breakfast / Packed Lunch / Dinner.
  • The most demanding day of the yatra — a 22 km trek crossing Dolma La Pass at 5,630 metres. The first 8–10 km are the toughest; the rest to Zuthulphuk is easier walking. Overnight at Zuthulphuk. Meals: Breakfast / Packed Lunch / Dinner.
  • Complete the final 8 km leg of the Parikrama (around 3 hours) to Chongdo, where vehicles await. Return to Darchen to rejoin the rest of the group. After lunch, head toward the Nepal border — immigration formalities are completed if time permits, otherwise the night is spent in Taklakot. Note: no dedicated room is provided here for pilgrims returning from a shortened Parikrama on day 3 at Darchen. Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
  • Complete immigration formalities, then fly via Simikot to Nepalgunj. This day is kept flexible for weather-related delays. Rest of the day free on arrival. Notes: early hotel check-in is subject to availability; hotel may vary on return from the Yatra; no refund applies if travelling onward the same night. Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
  • After breakfast, fly to Kathmandu. The rest of the day is free for leisure, relaxation and last-minute shopping. Overnight at hotel.
  • After breakfast, transfer to Kathmandu Airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your spiritual trek — with Lake Manasarovar, Mount Kailash and the journey's experiences engraved in your heart forever.
