This incredible Swastik Holiday Galicia and Northern Portugal tour itinerary will give you the chance to explore two nations simultaneously. You'll learn about Spain's northeast, particularly the Autonomous Community of Galicia and Portugal. The name Galicia is derived from the Latin toponym Callaecia, subsequently Gallaecia, which is connected to the Gallaeci or Callaeci in Latin, the name of an ancient tribe that lived north of the Douro river. Visit Spain and Portugal, two nations that are similar to one another but also very dissimilar from one another.

Breakfast at the hotel and we begin our guided tour in Santiago de Compostela, the Galician region's capital, in the morning. In 1985, the city's Old Town received the UNESCO designation as a World Heritage Site. The Cathedral (including admission), The Pórtico de la Gloria, St. James' tomb, and the opportunity to embrace the gilded figure of St. James are among the most significant locations we visit. Then, we have the chance to explore the area around the cathedral by walking through Obradoiro Square and past the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos and Palacio de Fonseca. Lunch is provided by the client, and then we travel to Pontevedra, a historic city and mediaeval port that has been called the "definitive old Galician town." The ancient Zona Monumental (old city), the Praza de Lea, the market, and the Alameda, a promenade along the ra are among the attractions. There is also the pilgrim shrine at the Praza da Peregrina. Our adventure continues as we stop at Poio Monastery, a fine illustration of Galician Baroque architecture (admission included). Combarro, a property of cultural interest since 1973, serves as the final stop on our journey for the day. Returning to my hotel room in Sanxenxo.
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Braga, Portugal, early in the morning. One of the most significant locations in the city core is the Cathedral, along with the Relic Chapel and Santa Barbara Chapel. After that, we proceed to the second-largest sanctuary in Portugal, Sameiro, before moving on to Bom Jesus del Monte, a famous example of a pilgrimage destination with a huge, Baroque staircase that ascends 116 metres (381 feet). Lunch is provided by the client, and in the afternoon we have the opportunity to tour Porto with a local guide. In 1996, UNESCO designated the city's historic centre as a World Heritage Site. The city's landscape was also enhanced by the neoclassicism and romanticism of the 19th and 20th centuries, including the spectacular Stock Exchange Palace, or "Palácio da Bolsa" (entry included).Accommodations at a Porto hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel and a guided tour of Coimbra. The third-largest urban hub in Portugal is this city. In 2013, UNESCO designated its historic structures as a World Heritage site. It has been home to the nation's top institution for the previous five centuries. The university, the Santa Cruz monastery, the Old and New Cathedrals, as well as the Machado de Castro Museum, one of the most significant art institutions in the nation, are just a few of the well-known landmarks in this city. Homes that overlook Coimbra appear to be suspended in midair as they ascend the hillside towards the historic Royal Palace, which houses the renowned University of the city. The tranquil waters of the Mondego River mirror Coimbra's grandeur. A broad avenue separates the riverside, making it ideal for a peaceful stroll in the company of the lush trees that offer shade during the hotter hours. We may enjoy some free time to explore this lovely city after lunch served by the customer. Accommodations at a Coimbra hotel.
