Reunion Island is an excellent option when it comes to visiting foreign islands. Every traveller would compare the island to heaven on earth since it is so gorgeous and magnificent. These islands make for the ideal leisure getaway because they are surrounded by the clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean, unwinding sand beaches, lush green hillsides on deeper islands, peaceful lagoons, volcanic craters, and rare animals.
Get there by flying into St. Denis International. On the west coast of the Reunion Islands, in St. Gilles, our representatives will greet you and arrange transportation. Register at your accommodation and get familiar with the area.
After breakfast, travel to the fishing village of St. Leu to see Kalonia. Before returning to St. Gilles, explore the turtle research facility. Take a sunset boat to admire the little island's charm.
Today, journey to Salazie, the island's centre. On your way, you pass through the northern capital of St. Denis, where you can witness historic Creole homes from the time of the East India Trade Company and the urban setting with its bourgeois appeal. You reach Slazie, which is a series of landscapes at 1000 metres above sea level, after passing a few Hindu temples. Waterfalls, verdant forests, and lapping waves are just a few of the area's many scenic features. From here, you can see the entire Reunion Island. For the evening, return to your accommodation in St. Gilles.
After breakfast, go to St. Pierre in the south. Start ascending to the plateaus of Plaine des Cafres and La Grande Ferme. As you approach a height of 2260m, this 22-kilometer stretch abruptly changes from seaside vistas to cliffs with constant geographic surprises. The Commerson Crater is a naturally occurring amphitheatre that never ceases to amaze scientists. Continue to La Plaine des Sables, a genuinely amazing place that is comparable to a heavenly residence. At a height of 2650m, the Le Pas de Bellecombe and Le Bory volcanoes exhibit more than 60 craters. Before returning to your accommodation, visit the City of Volcano Museum and La Saga du Rhum distillery.
You go 27 km to gain 2200 metres of altitude from sea level. Along the ascent, the scenery varies to include villages, an acacia forest, geranium fields, a classic tamarind forest, and eventually the edge of Mafate Cirque. You can see the entirety of Reunion Island and the Indian Ocean summit below you, which displays an abundance of beauty. Visit St. Paul Market and browse its vibrant aisles filled with items like Martin hot pepper, baskets of bitter Margoze, Pitaya crates, delectable Qunquat cardboard boxes, naive Madagascar embroidery, home-cooked caps, and Vacoa-made purses.
You can tour Reunion Island at your leisure on this day. Any optional activity, such as bungee jumping, paragliding, scuba diving, snorkelling, mountain biking, rafting, or kayaking, is strongly advised.
After breakfast, head to the airport in St. Denis to catch your flight back home, capping up an incredible trip to Reunion Island.
