Especially during the Hindu Ambubachi Mela in the month of June, for three days the temple closes down while the stream that flows through the shrine of the genitalia of the Goddess turns red marking the menstruation course of the Goddess.
While you visit this beautiful place in Arunachal Pradesh, you will come across the Tawang monastery which is the largest Buddhist Monastery situated at an elevation of almost 10,000 feet, surrounded by the snow-capped mountains and lush green coniferous forest coverage.
