Tour Package From Pune to Lakshadweep

According to the most current census in 2011, only 11 islands in this peaceful archipelago are inhabited. Many of the islands are nothing more than sand bars and atolls with no fresh water. Due to marine erosion, one of these islands, Parali 1, has become a submerged reef. Aminidivi, Laccadive, and Minicoy are the three clusters that make up the islands.

Aminidivi includes the islands of Chetlal, Kiltan, and Kadmat, among others. Kadmat is one of the few islands with resorts and is noted for its scuba diving sites. The Laccadive group of islands is the largest, with Androth, Kavaratti, Agatti, and Bangaram as significant islands. With 10,720 residents, Androth Island is the most populous, although Kavaratti is the capital of the Lakshadweep Union Territory.

Bangaram is a vacation island, and Agatti is home to the UT's only airport. The Minicoy cluster is located near the Maldives at the southernmost part of the islands. Permits are required for all tourists visiting Lakshadweep, both Indian and foreign. Authorized agents who sell Lakshadweep tour packages can obtain for these permits.

Culture of Lakshadweep

The northern island clusters of Laccadive and Amindivi speak Malayalam with a mix of Tamil and Arabic vocabulary, whereas the southern cluster of Minicoy speaks the Mahl dialect of Dhivehi, the Maldivian language. The majority of the population shares many socio-cultural practises with the Mappila community in northern Kerala, as well as Hindu origin. Along these coasts, many Nambudiri Brahmins and Nairs, among other social groupings, settled. This old caste relationship can be seen in the islands' matrilineal manner of life.

Kinship with the mother's side of the family is a common social practise. In the Laccadive and Amindivi cluster of islands, two popular folk dances, Kolkali and Parichakali, bring the community together, while people in Minicoy assemble around a dance form called Lava.

Traditions and rituals play an important role in the lives of these small, isolated communities. Explore tour package from pune to Lakshadweep at swastika Holiday and book now.

Scuba Diving in Lakshadweep

The clear waters around Lakshadweep make for excellent scuba diving. Some of the best diving islands are Agatti, Bangaram, Minicoy, and Kadmat. These islands are ideal for both advanced divers and newcomers to the sport, as they are home to numerous major PADI certified diving companies. The shipwreck off Bangaram, the abundance of marine life living among the coral reefs, and visibility of roughly 30 feet underwater - these are some of the world's best diving conditions. Driveline is a dive shop on Agatti Island.

Best time to visit Lakshadweep

The best months to visit Lakshadweep are December and January, while October to March is the busiest travel season. The waters are calm, the weather is pleasant, and the underwater visibility is excellent, making this the greatest time for scuba divers. Summer and monsoon months are the lean months, when the weather becomes extremely humid and the waterways become turbulent. The northeast monsoon affects the islands in October–November, and it can be rainy, but not as much as the southwest monsoon in June-July.

Before boarding the plane or ship, make sure you have a special permit. This can be obtained through a tour operator who is registered with the Society for Promotion of Nature Tourism and Sports, a nodal government agency in charge of tourism in Lakshadweep.
