Recommended Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival at Hasimara-Phuntsholing

When you arrive in Hasimara, we will greet you and take you to Phuntsholing Bhutan, where you can apply for a tourist visa at the border town's immigration office. You can later take a stroll through the town. Phuntsholing over night at 150 m asl.

Day 02 Phuntsholingto Thimphu

Drive the six hours from Phuentsholing to Thimphu. Be prepared with your cameras at all times since, despite the long and exhausting ride, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the varied greenery that Bhutan is so well known for. If time allows, continue your sightseeing after arriving. In Thimphu for the night | 2300 m

Day 03 Sightseeing Thimphu

Visit MemorialChorten (a temple), which was constructed in 1974 in honour of Bhutan's third king. Visit the recently constructed 51-meter-tall Buddha statue next, which is facing east and offers a panoramic view of the entire city of Thimphu. Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, one of the valley's oldest temples, and then the Takin Reserve Centre to see Bhutan's national animal. Visit the weekend market (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) after lunch. Visit the Handmade Paper Mill, Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Museum, and School of Arts & Crafts where students learn 13 various arts that are mostly employed in Bhutan. Dinner and a hotel stay the following day.

Day 04 Thimphu to Punakha

Afterwards, head towards Punakha. If the weather is suitable, travellers can enjoy a breathtaking view and take pictures of some of Bhutan's tallest mountain peaks at the Dochula Pass, which is located at 3100 metres. The view spans about 180 degrees. Take a stroll around the newly constructed 108 stupas before continuing on to Punakha, a subtropical valley. The drive offers stunning scenery. Before checking into the hotel, take a walk through a paddy field to Chimi Lhakhang, a fertility temple associated with the phallic symbol of religion. You will be taking numerous photos of this subject that are displayed at the entrances of most Bhutanese homes. Visit PunakhaDzong, which is regarded as the nation's most beautiful stronghold, after that. All around the Dzong, you'll love snapping shots from any angle.

Day 05 Punakha to Phobjikha

Drive to the scenic Phobjikha valley after breakfast. This bowl-shaped, tranquil glacial valley is where the endangered black-necked cranes spend the winters when migrating to Bhutan from October through February. Visit Gangtey Monastery, a beautifully restored monastery that offers stunning artwork and architecture to visitors. Enjoy the 1.5-hour nature trek through the village that leads to the temple known as Khewalhakhang below.

Day 06 Phobjikha to Paro

On 6th day of Bhutan Tour by Road, Start your return trip to Paro early. Visit the National Museum in Paro, the first of its kind, which houses a variety of works ranging from religious art to natural history. On foot, explore the ParoDzong (Fortress) from the 17th century and proceed across the oldest wooden bridge still in use. Wander through some of the local handcraft shops in the evening. For dinner, one can also dare to visit a nearby eatery.

Day 07 Paro or driveChelela Pass

After breakfast, take a 25-minute drive to the temple's base camp to begin your walk to the Tiger's Nest complex, the most venerated temple in the nation that literally hangs from a granite cliff overlooking the Paro valley. Visit the nation's oldest temple, Kitchu Lhakhang, built in the 7th century by the first dharma raja of Tibet, after the walk.

Day 08 Paro-Phuentsholing

Drive back to Phuentsholing after breakfast. Lunch stop on the way. If you have time once you are in Phuntsholing, visit the Crocodile Zoo.

Day 09 Phuntsholing – Hasimara

Our Indian car will arrive at your hotel the following morning after breakfast in order to continue the journey.
