Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden
Model Floriculture Center, formerly Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, is a tulip garden in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India. It is Asia’s largest tulip garden, covering over 74 acres. It is located at the base of the Zabarwan mountain range and is built on a sloping ground with seven terraces and a view of the Dal Lake. Siraj Bagh was its previous name. Around 1.5 million tulip bulbs in various colours were sent to Amsterdam’s Keukenhof tulip gardens. Aside from tulips, there are 46 different flower kinds, including hyacinths, daffodils, and ranunculus, all of which were imported from Holland. Around 68 different tulip varieties can be seen in the tulip garden.
Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden
The Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden was established in 1969 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India, to honour India’s first prime minister. It has a diverse range of plants and vegetation. This garden contains over 150,00 attractive plants as well as a large collection of oak types. A rare collection of Kashmiri tropical plants is also on display.
This garden is located on a mountainside near Chashma Shahi, Roop Bhavani Temple, and other attractions. This location attracts visitors from all around the world. The Plant Introduction Centre, the Research Section, the Recreational Garden, and the Botanical Garden are the four primary divisions. Tickets are required for admission.
